The St. Regis Singapore
We stayed at the St Regis Singapore for 2 nights in November of 2009. The nightly rates were WAY to high for our budget, but thanks to Cash & Points availability through SPG we were able to stay at this hotel for $90 (+taxes) and 4800 SPG points per night. It also turned out to be our first stay as Platinum members of the SPG program, and although we we didn't receive an upgrade we found it hard to complain too much when the standard rooms were already this luxurious. In addition to a 500 SPG point welcome gift, complimentary breakfast was offered as a benefit and although it was nice to have, we found the selection to be rather uninspiring.
The Hotel was rather well located at a quiet end of Orchard Road, but only a few minutes from the wall-to-wall shopping shopping that lined the majority of this street. We were actually a little overwhelmed by the crowds at times, and the St Regis turned out to be a nice oasis to be able to return to. All in all, we were sad to leave once it was time to check out.
